The Kardashians aren’t the only celebrities in the L.A. neigborhood of Calabasas. In fact, this Hollywood-heavy area is loaded with A-listers, including the newest member of the zip code: rapper Schoolboy Q, who just dropped $3 million on his Mountain View Estates home in Calabasas.
Built in 1992, the six-bedroom, eight-bathroom Italian-style mansion covers 6,819 square feet of pure bliss, as only a celebrity-occupied luxury home would. At the front entrance, large terracotta and stone steps lead to the intricately decorated glass-paned double front doors, flanked on either side by lush palms and greenery. A large overhead window above the front doors offers plenty of natural light into the double-height front foyer of the home equipped with a grand wright-iron staircase, a glimmering chandelier, and pristine limestone floors.
The spacious living room is covered in wood-paneled walls, and centralizes on a marble-surrounded fireplace with a large flat screen TV over top. The kitchen is stately with its custom walnut cabinet doors, creamed colored counters, a massive center island with a wine rack, designer stainless steel appliances, walk-in pantry, butler’s pantry, and a generous-sized breakfast room with additional cabinetry.
There’s more room to enjoy a formal meal in the separate dining area featuring wide hardwood floor planks and French doors that lead to the outdoor patio.
The main house features five of the six bedrooms, two of which are master suites that incorporate custom built-ins, crown molding, and huge separate seating areas. All five bedrooms come with their own private ensuite bathrooms.
The sixth bedroom is located in the property’s separate guest house, which is fully equipped to make any overnighter feel right at home.
Guests will feel just as comfortable hanging out in the outdoor grounds, which are chock full of goodies, including a sports pavilion, tennis court, lagoon style swimming pool with waterfalls and a slide surrounded by greenery, a spa, a grilling station, and a large covered deck.
Although born in Germany, Schoolboy Q – who’s real birth name is Quincy Matthew Hanley – grew up in Los Angeles, so he’s far from homesick. One thing’s for sure – he’s certainly moving on up in terms of home life from his original L.A. roots on Hoover Street.
Now he can brag that he lives among Hollywood Royalty, with fellow neighbors including the Kardashians (of course), Scott Disick, Britney Spears, Jimmy Kimmel, and Drake, who just bought a home in the Hidden Hills part of Calabasas in September 2016 for $2.85 million, which just happens to be right next door to a home he already calls home.
The previous seven-bedroom, nine-bathroom home Drake owned was purchased by the Canadian rapper in 2012 for $7.7 million. It looks like Drake is competing with the Kardashians in terms of taking over the neighborhood. But if Schoolboy Q has any say, he just might make a run for his own spot as king of Calabasas real estate in this highly coveted neighborhood of L.A.
