Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has come a long way from his days on Comedy Central’s raunchy “The Man Show,” and the recent listing of a rather classy home is proof of it. Kimmel has put his beautiful Hollywood Hills home on the market for an asking price of $2.299 million.
The home is located in the swanky Cahuenga Pass section of the Hills at 3410 Wonder View Drive. It features five bedrooms and five bathrooms, in addition to a bevy of luxurious facets throughout the home. The kitchen was created with a master chef’s needs in mind, with a Wolf cook top, double Bosch ovens, subzero refrigerator and freezer, working soda dispenser and a large adjustable dining table with booth seating. With all of these fine appliances, the home owner’s baking efforts won’t have any trouble getting attention. The kitchen’s special dessert refrigerator is in fact a dessert case such as those featured in classic diner establishments.
Delicious food creation is a current that runs strong throughout the household as the backyard features a built-in barbecue/smoker/pizza oven situated right next to a tap, perfect for home-tapped beer and pizza nights. The two-level backyard features a wooden deck outfitted with a huge barbecue and multiple areas for lounging and eating. Just a few steps below is a patio area with a pool and plenty of space for entertaining.
The interior of the home features a clean and classic palette. Floor-to-ceiling windows allow ample natural light to bathe the home’s contemporary but cozy decor in a warm glow. High atop a hill, the home also affords its inhabitants and visitors the most exquisite views of the surrounding hills and canyons.
Historic Hollywood Homes Gain Value
Kimmel’s history with the home goes back all the way to 2002, when the television personality purchased the home for a reported $925,000. However, the home’s history high in the hills above Hollywood runs much deeper, like many of the properties in the surrounding area that have been gaining equity amid recent price appreciation. The home was originally built in 1947, and was recently updated to the current luxury masterpiece that it is now.
At its current asking price of just under $2.3 million, Kimmel’s home is just a hair under the median single-family home value in West Hollywood as indicated by Altos Research, a California-based real estate analytics company. Altos reports a median value in West Hollywood of $2,818,873 as of August 15. Home prices in this luxury home market have been on the upswing in recent weeks, climbing ever so slightly from about $2.65 million in June.
Inventory in this exclusive market is tight, but gaining with about 106 properties listed on the market and trends indicating an upward pattern as of August 15.
