Academy Award winner and former fitness enthusiast Jane Fonda and her former partner, Richard Perry, are unloading their prized modern home in the 90210 zip code in Trousdale Estates for a hair under $13 million. The ex-couple – who just split up – bought the residence in 2012 for $7.3 million.
Based on her professed love for the home, it will likely be tough for Ms. Fonda to let go of the abode. The activist initially fell in love with the structure’s strong lines offset by the relaxing aura that the 7,102-square-foot mansion boasts.
Built in 1961, the home is situated on a 0.83-acre lot behind gates. The exterior features a perfect blend of wood and stone accents.
The 4-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom home was often used by the pair to throw extravagant parties, including Fonda’s star-studded 75th birthday party over four years ago. The home is ideal for entertaining after they transformed it into a gorgeous contemporary home that’s welcoming and warm.
Complementing all the sophisticated furniture throughout the home is the myriad of art pieces depicting the likes of Elizabeth Taylor and Marilyn Monroe. In addition to the six Andy Warhol paintings in the home are other vintage paintings and modern sculptures. The impressive art collection is showcased under a skylight to shine as much nature light on them as possible.
Just about every room in the home offers spectacular views of the overlooking city and hills thanks to the plethora of wall-to-wall windows and glass doors. Even the elevator – which Fonda dubbed to be the “gem” of the home – is encased in glass, providing views while moving from one level to the next.
The chef’s kitchen features a huge center island, verde quartz countertops, walnut cabinetry, and high-grade appliances. The sunken great room with white beamed ceilings provides a cozy atmosphere to relax and unwind. The master bedroom boasts a massive walk-in closet that is the size of an entire apartment, and two bathrooms, one of which – the master ensuite – features a glass-enclosed shower and a lounge space.
The office has built-in shelving and enormous windows that overlook a tranquil wooded area.
The outdoor space features a solar-heated pool surrounded by interlocking stone, seating areas, three fire features, and a meditation garden with a fountain.
Other notable features in the home include a fitness studio, a media room with built-ins and a massive flatscreen TV, a fully stocked bar area, and a stainless steel front door and matching stainless steel garage doors. The bamboo flooring, bio-ethanol fueled fireplaces, photovoltaic electric panels, and thermal glass windows make the house as eco-friendly as can be.
Where Fonda will wind up on her next real estate venture remains to be seen, but it’s likely that she’ll stick close by to the L.A. area considering her starring role in the Netflix series “Grace and Frankie” with fellow actors Lily Tomlin and Martin Sheen.
