Here are a few of the interesting real estate developments to take place in the Los Angeles area in the past few weeks.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen Purchase Rihanna’s Former House

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have reportedly purchased the former home of Rihanna. Located in the Beverly Crest neighborhood, Rihanna purchased the home in 2009 for $6.9 million. In 2011, the singer filed a lawsuit stating that the home flooded after experiencing what she called a “moderate rainstorm.” She then went on to put the home up for sale, claiming there was extensive damage due to moisture and water. She managed to sell it the following year for $5.03 million to someone who went on to flip it with an asking price of $9.95 million. After sitting on the market for some time, it finally sold in 2014 for $7.645 million. The new owner gave the home additional renovations before putting it back on the market again last January with a price tag of $16.895 million.

Legend and Teigen reportedly paid $14.1 million for the home, which features five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Other features include a billiard/party room with a bar, a gym, a sauna, a theater, 9 flat screen televisions, an infinity soaking tub and a high-tech security system. Resting at the end of a cul de sac on .96 acres, the home also offers views of the city and the canyon.

Located at Fourth Street and Main, the building was constructed in 1897 and has operated in the hospitality business ever since. The building has frequently been used for on-location shoots for numerous films, including Armageddon, Inception, (500) Days of Summer, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and As Good As It Gets.
