After half a year on the market, Eva Longoria’s pinkish-red Hollywood Hills mansion has finally sold for $1.374 million. While the “Desperate Housewives” star may have waited a long time for an offer, she snagged a good one – only $20,000 off the asking price of $1.395 million. Not only that, she made a profit on it after paying $1.15 million for the home in January 2005.
The 2,011-square-foot Mediterranean-style home on Rockledge Road is tucked behind a plant-covered wall and metal gate and sits on a 3,700-square-foot lot. The unique red exterior is flanked by beige pillars that envelope the extra-high windows. A set of stone stairs leads up to a wide porch where the front door lies. Upon entrance, a spacious and bright foyer awaits that’s lined with yellow walls and centered on a candle-filled lantern that serves as the chandelier.
Built in 1924, the three-bedroom, three-bathroom home is full of quirky charm, hence the use of bright colors both on the exterior and interior. Offbeat architectural details include a salmon-hued curved staircase with matching pillars at the foot of the stairs, and a third-level terrace bathed in pink Corinthian columns.
There is no shortage of color in this home. The chef’s kitchen features a yellow-painted breakfast nook with a more classic backdrop of black granite countertops and glimmering floors. An old-fashioned chandelier hangs above the dinette table. The formal dining area also boasts the home’s signature row of delicately arched windows.
Aside from the bright colors, vintage chandeliers also seem to be a common theme throughout the home. There’s another one hanging in the spacious living room, which is splashed in a variety of browns and whites.
The second-floor master bedroom boasts French doors that open up to a terrace. The back porch is painted in the same salmon red as the exterior of the home.
Just about every room in the house offers spectacular views of the city and canyon below thanks to the family of long, arched windows with white trim.
Ms. Longoria is trading in this modest-sized home for a much larger one in the same neighborhood. She will now be calling another European-style estate on Torreyson Drive home which she snagged in 2015 for $11.4 million off fellow celebrity Tom Cruise. The home was originally listed for $13 million. The stunning abode boasts glass walls that provide incredible views of the surrounding hills and the bright lights of the city.
All three bedrooms of the home feature their own ensuite bathrooms. There’s also a guest house with an additional four bedrooms, four bathrooms, and its own kitchen. Other notable features of the home include a vaulted ceiling farm-style kitchen, wine cellar, tasting room, oak floors, and plaster walls to complete the European theme.
This past May, the 41-year-old A-lister gave marriage another go by marrying businessman Jose Pepe Baston.
