Known for his role in the CW’s long-running series “Supernatural,” Jared Padalecki has recently put his cozy San Fernando Valley home on the market for $2.4 million. The actor, who is also known for his five-year role as Dean in “Gilmore Girls,” bought the home in 2009 for $1.775 million. The 1924 Spanish-style home boasts 3,818 square feet of space and fully renovated amenities. The home features stunning views of the mountains, to boot.
The property features vaulted beam ceilings and stained glass with a formal entry hallway, library or office, a family game room, four bedrooms and five bathrooms. The decor of the home is rustic and earthy with large windows that open up to outstanding views in some rooms of the home. Really taking on the history of the house, Padalecki decorated the space with Spanish-style plates, natural wood finishes and subtle colors.
Padalecki, 31, embodied the true character of the home in its design, using plenty of Spanish-inspired accents throughout the space. The home is designed with an open-concept feel, although the rooms are separate from one another. The dining area is large enough for an eight-person table or bigger. The dining room opens up into the living area, which boasts tall ceilings and white-painted wood beams.
Special Features of the Home
One of the stand-out features of the living area is an arched, nearly floor-to-ceiling window that offers great views. Most of the walls are painted in an off-white color, which maintains the airy feel of the home. A large fireplace is also a great feature, which has detailed tile and a natural wood mantel.
The study features tons of windows letting in natural light with the trim painted in a light bluish gray, which are seen in several areas of the home. While the room is decorated in the same style as much of the rest of the home, it also features large shelves that circle the room just below the ceiling. Currently a spot where Padalecki displays what seems to be vintage wine bottles, it could be made to photos or decorative accents.
The home has a separate room for laundry, which boasts a farmhouse sink, plenty of cabinetry for storage and large countertops.
One bathroom features Spanish tile along the wall, which seems to be original. A small window lets in natural light, making the space feel relaxing and airy. One of the most beautiful features of the bathroom is the silver clawfoot tub that finishes off the vintage look of the room.
The bedrooms are of moderate size and all evoke the same feel as the rest of the home.
