Celebrity designers Nate Berkus and Jeremiah Brent have listed their Hollywood Hills West home for $2.995 million. The power-designing couple purchased the home last year for $2.36 million, and have since remodeled its interiors.
The 3,600-square-foot Spanish revival home is hidden behind gates and hedges, and was previously owned by TV and film producer Frank Konigsberg, as well as playwright John Wexley who was part of “The Last Mile” film.
As one would imagine, the five-bedroom, five-bathroom estate would be incredibly stylish considering it was revamped at the hands of uber-successful designers that have been hailed by the likes of Oprah Winfrey. Inside the abode are white walls and ceilings, double staircases, light hardwood flooring, oodles of natural light, and modern fixtures. Striking architectural aspects can be enjoyed all over the interior, including gorgeous archways and elaborate crown moldings.
The chef’s kitchen boasts white stone counters and subway tile backsplash are clean and crisp, and the massive kitchen island offers more than enough space to prepare daily meals. The living room’s wood-burning fireplace and high ceilings create a serene environment to relax in, and the formal-yet-comfortable dining room boasts an opulent light fixture that immediately grabs attention.
The master suite in this 1920s estate is a cozy retreat with plenty of space for the bed, a sitting area, a closet, spa-like ensuite, and a balcony that offers views of the bright lights of downtown L.A. Each of the other bedrooms in the home has its own ensuite bathroom. The home also comes equipped with an office and staff quarters on the main level.
The outdoor property boasts a spacious patio that’s surrounded by decorative tile, lush garden beds, and pleasant walkways. To top things off, the outside space features a private oasis with a pool and seating areas that are tucked behind trees and shrubs. The hillside home features many terra cotta-tiled terraces for lounging and dining. The home’s two-car garage and its high-ceilinged guest room and bathroom atop it completes the property.
The 44-year-old designer snatched up this beautiful home with his partner last October for $2.36 million. Despite all the work the couple did on the home, they didn’t ever actually live in it. In fact, they never even had any intentions of moving in.
Instead, they picked up the property because of its incredible potential to be stunningly revamped yet remain true to its original state. The couple thoroughly enjoys working on interior design projects together, and this home offered them a blank canvas upon which to work.
The couple previously lived in a 2,800-square-foot, two-unit penthouse in New York City’s Greenwich Village in 2013 for almost $6 million.
Berkus has made numerous television appearances on “The Oprah Winfrey Show” where he’s completed plenty of home makeovers, and Brent is host the Emmy-winning show “Home Made Simple.” Together, the couple is set to debut their new show “Married to Design” this fall.
