Hilary Duff’s older sister Haylie has new digs in Studio City after dropping $2.695 million for a home sold by Disney queen Ashley Tisdale. Duff paid full asking price after the home was listed just this past August for the same amount she bought it for.
Ms. Tisdale didn’t exactly have much time to settle into her home, considering the fact that she just bought it last June for $2.5 million.
The 5-bedroom, 6-bathroom Cape Cod–style home is situated on a private tree-lined street, with the front doors tucked behind gates. The home boasts a wonderfully spacious open floor plan and towering ceilings with views from the front entryway right through to the back of the home. Tons of natural light easily spills into every space thanks to the open concept and extra-large windows.
Each bedroom in the 4,976-square-foot mansion has its own private ensuite bathroom, and the master bedroom comes equipped with all the bells and whistles, including his-and-her walk-in closets, a separate sitting area, a fireplace, and a spa-retreat bathroom with two marble-topped vanities, soaking tub, and glass-enclosed steam shower.
Built in 2015, the Los Angeles area residence features a must-have large chef’s kitchen, which is perfectly suited given Haylie’s new gig on the Cooking Channel with her very own show, “Hailey’s America.” The space features white cabinetry, glass-fronted uppers, a porcelain sink, stainless steel appliances, a breakfast area that spills out into a large family room, Caesarstone counters, and a huge center island. She’s obviously got to have a space suitable for testing out her new creations for her very own show!
The home’s theater room features a massive 90-inch projection screen and tiered seating, perfect for showing off her stint on TV.
The spacious formal dining room is open to the rest of the home, but can be closed off to the foyer for more intimate functions thanks to the sliding door. The living room features a built-in entertainment unit, a reclaimed brick wall, and glass sliding doors that lead to the backyard.
The home is somewhat high-tech, with features like a home automation system and 8-camera security system making the home easier and more convenient to operate.
The wonderfully manicured and fenced-in outdoor property is covered in rich landscaping and mature trees, which flank the saltwater swimming pool and spa, trellis-shaded outdoor eating area, and built-in barbecue.
The actress-turned-television-host also has another home listed for sale, also located in Studio City. She purchased the 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home in February 2015 for $1.3 million, and is selling it for $2.195 million. She’s clearly looking for a quick profit, considering how much more she’s asking for it after only about a year-and-a-half of owning the place.
Perhaps she’s got good reason to ask for that much more, since she appears to have made some additions and remodeled the home quite a bit. The original listing from last year stated that the home measured 2,922 square feet. The current listing, however, states that the home is 3,150 square feet.
It doesn’t look like Haylie is necessarily playing second fiddle in the shadows of her more famous sister, Hilary, at least not in the real estate department.
