While rumors are circulating about whether or not Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling have parted ways, one thing is for sure: Mendes is parting ways with her luxury Hollywood Hills home. Mendes purchased the property with former boyfriend George Gargurevich, a Peruvian filmmaker, for $584,000 in December 2002. The couple dated for eight years before splitting in 2010. The home is now on the market $1,269,000.
Coined as an “artist sanctuary,” the starter home in LA has three bedrooms and two bathrooms with more than 1,700 square feet of space. The eclectic decor features everything from custom wallpaper to funky art pieces to stunning outdoor space with a cedar hot tub and outdoor shower.
The home also sits at the top of a hill, offering spectacular views of the city. Like many homes with sprawling views, Mendes’ has walls of glass that open up to outdoor decks with plenty of room to catch some rays or plant vegetables. In fact, the decks have fruit trees, chicken coops, raised vegetable boxes and more, making it a perfect gardner oasis.
The home boasts urban accents that blend modern style with natural elements. As Forbes Magazine states: “Renovated over the course of the decade, the beautifully-designed living space is graced with explosive city views. A true bohemian den, the home has ‘artful pockets of space for nomadic entertaining…and vintage wall paper, exquisite lighting and European fixtures.’”
The two-story home boasts two outdoor spaces, both with spectacular views, and space for entertaining. Large potted plants and lush greenery make up for the lack of an actual yard. A large wrap-around seating bench with picnic tables that extend are perfect for welcoming guests.
The home features floor-to-ceiling windows that bring in plenty of natural light as well, and help to open up the space. The home is mismatched in its decor, but the vintage, modern and retro touches meld perfectly to create a homey atmosphere that is still chic and stylish.
The bedrooms are of moderate size with large windows and beautiful flooring. One bedroom features dramatic wallpaper covering the walls and ceiling along with a small chandelier. Yet the master bathroom is uber sleek with a massive mirror, soaking tub and frosted windows that make the room feel like it’s in the middle of the jungle.
Each area of the home is different and instead of featuring large open-floor planning, it is sectioned off with a spiral staircase connecting both floors.
As this is Mendes’ second home, she owns a four-bedroom, four-bathroom home that she purchased in April 2008 for $3.2 million. It’s no surprise that this one is now on the market. The eclectic mid-century modern home is located at 2732 Hollyridge Dr. in Los Angeles.
