After a slow-down in celebrity homes for sale, November is showing some new celebrity listings. A number of beautiful celeb homes have been placed on the market in Los Angeles with a wide range of styles and locations throughout the area.
Old Hollywood’s Great Estates Enters the Market for $79 Million
This old Hollywood charmer is a gated property that sits on a lush spread in Holmby Hills, Los Angeles. The home dons the Georgian Revival-style; carefully designed by Greystone Mansion architect, Gordon B. Kaufmann and was built for Edie Goetz, the daughter of movie mogul Louis B. Mayer, and her husband, producer William Goetz. The home was reinvented years later with a complete overhaul and is now entering the market for the first time in more than 25 years. The old Hollywood glamour style estate was home to parties, soirees and bashes for Hollywood elite. While residing in the home, the Goetz couple was the cornerstone of the Hollywood social scene. In 1969 Bill Goetz passed away and unofficially brought the era of epic glamour parties to an end. When Edie Goetz passed away in 1988, the estate was put on the market for $12 million. After a spell sitting on the market, Gary L. Wilson, previous chairman of Northwest Airlines and prior Disney CFO, bought the property for $7.4 million in 1990. During the negotiations to purchase the Holmby Hills home, Wilson also purchased the property next door and merged the two estates.
Frank Sinatra’s Desert Retreat Reenters the Market for $3.9 million
In the late 1960’s Frank Sinatra set out to add to his homestead in Ranch Mirage and created building plans for a secluded desert compound. His first home sat at the edge of the country club he frequented and a social epicenter. The second home was envisioned to fulfill his need for a private desert oasis. This retreat was intentionally isolated and offered the crooning superstar a place to hide away from the world. The home is currently in the hands of its second ever owner and has been on the market in the past. This most recent listing of the property includes an additional 2.5 acres that have been acquired by the current owner. The now 7.5 acres of land is a private Mecca with a surprising price tag. The midcentury modern, lodge-style home has five bedrooms and several grand stone fireplaces. There is a guest home, a well and water tower, two saunas, lighted tennis court and even a helipad.
Kylie Jenner selling LA-area home for $3.9 million
The youngest sister of reality TV princess, Kim Kardashian has decided to list her Calabasas California home for $3.9 million. The 4,851 square feet features five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a home theater. Like the rest of her family, Kylie has a definite knack for purchasing properties, renovating when necessary and selling for a significant gain. This Tuscan remodeled home has been decorated with a unique black and white theme. The master bedroom has even been designed to serve as a “glam room” with a master suite that would please any potential buyer. The expansive master walk-in closet offers dedicated space not just for clothes, but also for shoes, purses and jewelry.
