Pop princess Britney Spears finally sold her Lake Sherwood home in Thousand Oaks for $7 million after having originally listed it last year for $8.995 million. The listing price was dropped down to $7.495 million before selling recently. Spears purchased the home five years ago from retired hockey player Russ Courtnall.
Built in 2010, the Spanish-style house is covered in white stucco exterior walls and terracotta clay roof shingles, and sits on over an acre of land. The interior decor includes a neutral color palette.
The sprawling 8,500-square-foot, 5-bedroom, 7-bathroom home is loaded with picturesque and decorative features, including beamed and vaulted ceilings, arched doorways and windows, and glass walls that provide the ideal Southern California indoor-outdoor vibe.
The all-white gourmet kitchen features custom cabinetry, contoured ceilings, white counters and backsplash, a massive square-shaped center island, a second smaller breakfast island, and a seating area. The dark limestone and oak hardwood floors provide a striking contrast to the lighter fixtures.
The great room is flanked with glorious archways that open up to a wide hallway outlined with arched French doors and lead to the outdoor space. The spacious family room area boasts a glass-enclosed wine cellar behind the wet bar for easy entertaining.
The master suite is situated in its own private wing, and comes equipped with his-and-hers walk-in closets and two ensuite bathrooms, each with its own vanity, bathtub, and shower stall. Other wings in the home include the guest wing and children’s wing.
There is a ton of indoor-outdoor access from just about every part of the home. Outside are covered patios, a built-in barbecue area with a fireplace and bar, a spa and jacuzzi, and a swimming pool with waterfalls and a beach entry. From both interior and exterior vantage points are stunning views of the Santa Monica Mountains.
Other notable features of the home include two office spaces, a formal dining room, a home theater, a game room, various communal rooms that lead off to separate wings, and garages that provide parking for 7 vehicles.
Not only is Spears one of the best-selling singers in history, she’s also becoming one of the biggest real estate moguls in Hollywood. Since making it big back in 1999 at the tender age of 18, she’s owned 10 properties in areas including Hidden Hills, Calabasas, Beverly Hills, Hollywood Hills, Malibu, and New York City.
Spears won’t be bailing on the Thousand Oaks area just yet: the Las Vegas headliner continues to own another mansion in the area that she purchased two years ago for $7.1 million. This 12,500-square-foot abode is perched on an expansive 21-acre lot in an enclave that was developed by fellow Hollywood A-listers Bruce Willis and Sylvester Stallone. It features luxury amenities, including an elevator, spa, tennis court, orchard, golf course, and wine cellar. The home also comes with monthly homeowner’s dues of $1,836.
