Recently married celebrity couple Benji Madden and his wife Cameron Diaz are adding another property to their repertoire: a 2,583-square-foot home in Studio City that they snagged for $2.2 million.
Built in 1964, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom, Mid-Century/contemporary style home offers incredible canyon views from its sprawling lot. Tucked privately behind gates, a sizable motor court greets guests before leading to the double-car garage and oversized dark front door, which contrasts the white stucco exterior.
Every room oozes tons of natural light thanks to the oversized windows, glass sliders, and huge openings to the outdoors. The home has been updated with opulent finishes, including natural stone, lacquer, and recessed lighting throughout. There’s a true indoor-outdoor vibe throughout the single-story home, thanks to the wide open spaces that blend both the interior and exterior of the property.
The all-white chef’s kitchen boasts a waterfall island, minimalist cabinets, light gray counters, stainless steel appliances, and natural hardwood flooring. The open concept layout blends the kitchen with the enormous great room, which features a sleek fireplace surrounded by floor-to-ceiling black-and-white marble. Both spaces have walls that open up to the backyard with a large swimming pool that serves as the focal point of the outdoor space, along with lots of greenery and a patio.
The understated yet spacious master bedroom comes with a seating area and opens up to the backyard. The master ensuite bathroom comes equipped with an extra-long white vanity with double sinks, a glass-enclosed shower stall, and even glass sliding doors that lead to the outdoors — a truly unique feature.
Speaking of unique, one of the bathrooms features very interesting black walls covered in white script, requiring little else in the name of decor to spruce up the space.
Up until now, the couple has been living in the lap of luxury in Diaz’s $9.5 million mansion in Beverly Hills. Not only do they call other Hollywood A-listers like Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, and Jennifer Lawrence neighbors, Madden’s twin brother Joel and his wife, Nicole Richie, also live down the street in a home they bought in early 2015 for $6.7 million.
Prior to this recent purchase, Madden let go of his Nichols Canyon pad in LA that he listed in 2015 for $1.495 million. He owned the 1950’s ranch-style home for only a couple of years after buying it in 2013 for $1.125 million.
Diaz also sold her Kelly Wearstler-designed Greenwich Village apartment in New York City around the same time in 2015 for $4.25 million. She continues to own another, much larger apartment in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York that she purchased in late 2013 for $9.52 million.
