Actress Alyson Hannigan is continuing to build her real estate empire with yet another transaction in the LA area.
The “How I Met Your Mother” star and actor hubby, Alexis Denisof, just bought a 5-bedroom, 8-bathroom home in Encino for $7.95 million. The Peter Tolkin Architecture-designed home is tucked behind private gates and equally private landscaping of oak, palm, and sycamore trees. The rustic-slash-contemporary home, which was built in 2001, is positioned on a 3-acre hillside lot overlooking the stunning San Fernando Valley.
The interior is splashed in poured concrete walls, metal-framed windows, and soaring vaulted ceilings, giving the home a majestic, modern feel.
The master bedroom features a separate den, and its ensuite bathroom boasts a metallic soaking tub. Four of the bedrooms are located in the main residence, while the fifth is situated in a separate guest house that also comes equipped with its own kitchen, full bathroom, an art studio, and gym.
Among the rest of the home’s 5,472 square feet is an open concept chef’s kitchen, a great room with a fireplace, and a media room.
The concrete and glass that fills in the interior spills outside to outdoor pavilions that open up to a sizeable courtyard, swimming pool, spa, and a lit tennis court.
An interesting quirk about the abode: it was featured on the big screen in 2007 in the thriller movie “Fracture” starring Anthony Hopkins and Ryan Gosling.
The former “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and her husband can add this real estate transaction to their growing list of acquisitions and sales. Just two months ago, the couple listed their 4-bedroom, 6-bathroom home in the posh LA neighborhood of Brentwood for $8.795 million that they just purchased not even a year earlier for $7.89 million. The 3-bedroom, 4.5-bathroom home was remodeled from its classic 1930s New England style while retaining its original charm.
The 5,864-square-foot main residence features blonde hardwood floors, an oversized step-down living room, and a brand-new kitchen with white and grey marble counters and white subway tile backsplash.
Adjacent to the main residence is a 1,000-square-foot 3-room poolside guesthouse with its own bathroom. French doors lead to a sprawling, multi-tiered blue stone patio which steps down to an expansive sloping lawn that ends off with a swimming pool and spa.
Earlier in 2016, the duo listed their Santa Monica home for lease at a price of $17,500 a month. Hannigan and Denisof continue to own an Atlanta home that they purchased for $810,000 in 2014.
This latest listing is likely not to be the last for the couple, considering their growing string of real estate endeavors.
