Orange County home owners looking to populate their home with unique, luxury designs will have another retailer to frequent as the home furnishing mecca known as HD Buttercup is slated to open its third location at the South Coast Collection in Costa Mesa this fall.
HD Buttercup, which has existing locations in Culver City and San Francisco, specializes in providing an ever-evolving range of home furnishings and goods. According to the brand’s website, their products “are anything but cookie cutter,” and there is no doubt that this unique location will make the very best in high-end style available to Orange County home owners.
Orange County, and the South Coast Collection in particular, have been attracting an array of home decor stores as of late. Over the last year the upscale shopping center has added Design Within Reach, Environment Furniture, Brown Jordan and Organic Modernism.
The shopping experience at HD Buttercup aims to be unparalleled by any other home furnishing group out there. The new showroom will be a 40,000-square-foot homage to upscale antique malls. It will be comprised of several designer stalls, including Ralph Lauren Home, Calvin Klein Couture, Andrew Martin, Timothy Oulton, Brownstone and Gus Furniture, among others.
The showroom will be located in what is now TPT Home, and will be a design haven for Orange County home owners. In addition to furnishings, the brand will also offer design consulting and 3-D room planning for clients. Local designers will also find the space ideal for them as the brand hopes to offer a trade program as well.
Costa Mesa Real Estate Update
Home buyers looking to get in on the real estate action in Costa Mesa will find ideal conditions, not just in home design options, but also in the strong market conditions that have been occurring in the area lately.
According to Altos Research, the median single-family home value in Costa Mesa is seeing a slight increase in recent weeks to a current value of $776,777. Home values in the area had leveled off since the first of the year after increasing throughout 2013.
One factor that is helping Costa Mesa prices to stay at the stable level is a strong demand for property in the area. This is indicated by Altos’ unique value known as the Market Action Index, which measures from a neutral value of 30 if the local market is trending high in favor of sellers or low in favor of buyers. At 43.03, Costa Mesa’s MAI indicates that sellers are very much in the driver’s seat as demand is extremely high but inventory is very low.
An increase in competition among home buyers has helped to keep prices at their inflated level, and will likely drive further increases in the coming months.
