Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP has announced that it will be merging with Richardson & Patel LLP, resulting in a new Los Angeles law firm with 130 lawyers. Together, the firm will be known as Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp (MSK).
Establishing a Long History of Los Angeles Legal Expertise
Established in 1908 in Los Angeles, Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP is a mid-sized law firm that strives to provide the highest quality of legal work and personal service to every client. In addition to its offices in Los Angeles, the firm also has offices in New York and Washington, D.C. Through these offices, the firm serves an international clientele that consists of Fortune 100 companies as well as individual entrepreneurs.
With over 100 lawyers working for the company, many choose to stay with the firm throughout their entire careers. As such, the firm is able to provide a continuity of service that is not found with many other law firms. As a result, many of the firm’s clients have been utilizing their legal services for decades.
With the wide range of lawyers working for the firm, it is able to provide an extensive list of professional services. Among these are entertainment litigation, environmental law, cybersecurity, immigration, real estate, tax, international trade, homeland security, class action defense and fashion industry services.
Bringing a Fresh Perspective to LA Law
With Richardson & Patel LLP having been established 15 years ago, the law firm brings a fresh perspective as well as many years of experience under its belt. While Richardson & Patel has not expanded its services to as many clients around the world and does not have as many lawyers as Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP, the firm has stablished a solid reputation in Southern California.
In addition, the firms lawyers specialize in areas of business law that helps to expand the total offerings of Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP. As such, the merger will help the company provide an even more well-rounded list of services to clients.
Providing a Higher Level of Service to LA Clients
As the new Mitchell Sillberg & Knupp, Kevin Gaut will be appointed chairman of the merged company. Nimish Patel, who is the co-founder of Richardson & Patel, will serve as the vice chairman. The new company will specialize in entertainment and media law as well as corporate and securities law, business litigation, securities litigation, employment litigation and mergers and acquisitions.
While the merger between the two firms will put them at a different legal standing in terms of ownership, the change will not represent the first time the two companies have worked together. Among other cooperative cases, the two firms worked together to represent Reload Studios Inc. of Los Angeles with its Series A preferred stock financing.
