As fall descends upon the residents of the Los Angeles area, many of our thoughts shift from surfing and beach days to pumpkins and costume choices. Young and old revel in the change of season as the calendar page turns yet again. In this guide we highlight some of the best places in LA to choose your perfect pumpkin and pick it yourself. Many of these pumpkin patches include fall snacks, apple cider, fun for the kids and live music, making them a perfect place to spend a fall day.
Cottone and Sons Pumpkin Patch
The South Bay pumpkin patch has been a part of pumpkin picking splendor since 1959. The family-owned patch comes with more than just pumpkins, including rides and activities for the kids. After choosing a pumpkin you can play in the bounce house, take a pony ride, pet farm animals and plenty more.

For 100 years, Forneris Farms has hosted one of the best fall festivals in the Los Angeles area. The farm is headlined by a four-acre cornfield maze, as well as pony rides, live music and pumpkins as far as the eye can see. Pumpkin seekers can enjoy a tractor ride to the patch along the narrated tour of the cornfields and farm. Kids can play in the hay bale mini maze, climb the hay pyramid and bounce the day away in a pumpkin bouncer.
