Not everyone thinks of luxury when they think about going to the movies. But living in Southern California puts you within arm’s reach of the movie industry and plenty of opportunities to experience the silver screen with class. One of the nation’s most luxurious and technologically advanced theaters has made its way to the Playa Vista neighborhood in Los Angeles for home owners who want a little more with their movie-going experience.
“I am pleased to welcome one of the most well-recognized theatre operators to Playa Vista and I thank Cinemark for helping to generate more than 100 new jobs in one of our city’s hottest entertainment and technology hubs,” said Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. “This groundbreaking movie theater experience will be a significant asset for the Playa Vista community, and I look forward to witnessing its success in the years to come.”
The Cinemark theatre equips movie-goers with everything needed to fully relax and enjoy a new flick, including an over-sized lounger that makes the theatre feel like your own living room. Located right in the heart of Silicon Beach, the theater is in the perfect location for technology lovers as well as luxury home owners who want to enjoy a movie in comfort. The theatre features a 72-foot-wide screen that has 3D capabilities with state-of-the-art digital technology, VIP seating arrangements, a cocktail lounge and several auditoriums. One of those auditoriums has more than 400 seats, but visitors shouldn’t worry about feeling cramped.
“We knew when we put in a new theater here it had to be state of the art when it came to technology,” Cinemark spokesman James Meredith said.”It’s the most luxurious and technologically advanced theater in Los Angeles. It is by far the best environment to watch a big blockbuster movie.”
The Runway Project in Playa Vista
The Cinemark Theatre will be the anchor for the Runway project, which is a large-scale mixed-use use of a legendary parcel of land that blends shopping, dining, entertainment, office and living space in the heart of the Playa Vista community.
“We are thrilled to launch Cinemark Playa Vista, which promises to be the centerpiece of the highly anticipated Runway project,” said David Binswanger, Executive Vice President of Lincoln Property Company. “Runway was envisioned to be a true community center with tenants at the forefront of everything new in the worlds of food, fashion, art, design and technology. The high-tech, first class movie-going experience at Cinemark is a perfect way for us to introduce Runway to the community, and we look forward to rolling out the rest of the project in the months to come.”
With hopes of the Playa Vista Runway becoming the new downtown epicenter of the community, this theatre will certainly set the tone of luxury, style and forward-thinking.
