It may feel like summer time all year long in Southern California, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t inject some springtime color and flair into your luxury Pasadena home this time of the year. Just like fashion aligns with the seasons, decor trends can be easily incorporated into your home to bring out the cheeriness and vibrancy of spring. Here are a few ideas to consider when redecorating your home for spring.
The best way to truly bring the vibrancy of spring indoors is to bring a little bit of the outdoors in your decor. The easiest way to do this is with plants and flowers. A little punch of bright green, yellow or orange can immediately make your space look more welcoming, fresh and spring-ready. You could also incorporate nature with rustic and unfinished wood pieces, in both wall decor and furnishings.
If you like to change up your look frequently, consider incorporating flowers that can be swapped out regularly for different colors and species so you’re always feeling like the room is as spring-friendly as possible.
Brighten up furniture
There are so many ways to give your furniture a little bit of oomph! From repainting to reupholstering to simply changing out some throw pillows, you can get as innovative or carefree with the revamp as you want. Reupholstering is obviously the most time consuming and potentially challenging option of the three, chairs can easily be re-done and customized for any room in the home. Wood furniture can be painted or restained in a lighter shade or tone, although this is a very permanent solution to lighten up your look.
If you’re looking for more of a temporary swap, add some colorful throw pillows or light blankets in the living room. Even though you’re not making any changes to the furniture itself, the addition of bright hues will immediately open up the space for spring.
Spring is synonymous with clean, crisp and a fresh start. As you’re determining the new decor for your home, now may be a great time to get rid of some of what is already there. You can truly embody the essence of spring by giving your home a little bit of a scrub down and detox–getting rid of the old, unused and cluttered. Go through each room of the home and vow to give away a bag or box of items that go unused and could go to a new home. Before you know it you’ll have so much more clear, uncluttered space and you’ll feel as though you can breathe a bit deeper.
“Enhance what you already have,” designer Linda Rubin said. “You don’t have to cover every square inch of a table, or a wall or a mantle.”
