Singer-songwriter Charlie Puth recently purchased a $1.9 million home in the historic Hollywood Hill’s neighborhood of Whitley Heights. The three-story Italianate-style home boasts beamed ceilings and an open-floor plan framed by rows of French doors. Built in 1956, the home features several terrace balconies that offer enviable views of downtown Los Angeles.
The 4,350-square-foot home boasts an updated, modern kitchen with a broad breakfast bar that opens to a shared living and dining area with an inviting fireplace and hearth. An additional kitchen area, a media room, personal office and a wine room are among the home’s other common areas. The master bedroom suite features a double-sided fireplace, a sitting area and a spacious walk-in closet for a grand total of five bathrooms and four bedrooms.
Stepping outside, a covered and tiled patio leads to a swimming pool and a raised spa. Next to the pool is a detached changing room. Hedges for privacy, a garden of citrus trees and solar panels complete the outdoor scenery.
The house entered the market in April at a list price of $2.895 million, recently priced down to $1.999 million, according to local real estate records. Four years ago, the house sold to its latest owner for $1.875 million. Sotheby’s International Realty was the listing agency, which Nourmand & Associates represented Charlie Puth.
Puth’s debt studio album, “Nine Track Mind,” is set for release in late January. Born in 1991, Charlie Puth started his musical career by posting his music to YouTube. In 2011, Ellen DeGeneres signed Puth to her record label after seeing his cover of Adele’s “Someone Like You.” Puth released two independent albums, “The Otto Tunes” and “Ego” in 2010 and 2013. In May 2015, Puth released his EP, “Some Type of Love.” Puth later signed with Atlantic Records, which is set to release his first studio album, “Nine Track Mind” in late January.
Charlie Puth’s most recent public performance came at the New Year Eve’s celebration in New York City’s Time Square. Puth presented his hit track, “See You Again,” with collaborator Wiz Khalifa, who maintains a home in the Canonsburg suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Puth and Khalifa were a couple of the many artists who performed on stage for the annual edition of Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve celebration in Times Square. Their hit collaboration, “See You Again,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 earlier this year, was written as a tribute to deceased actor Paul Walker as part of the soundtrack of the latest installment of the franchise that made him famous, Furious 7. Puth has collaborated with other artists such as Meghan Trainor, Trey Songz, Jason Derulo and Lil Wayne.
Called “The Hill,” by its residents, Whitley Heights has hosted many celebrities and artists over the years, including many from the Golden Age of Cinema, including Rudolph Valentino, Jean Harlow, Charlie Chaplin, Bette Davis, W.C. Fields and Gloria Swanson, to name a few.
